BASKETS

WOOLLEN KIONDO baskets are woven for us by a group of ladies from Karatina District. They use wool recycled from old jerseys hence no two baskets are ever the same. The pattern style and choices of colour also varies from tribe to tribe taught by older family members.

SISAL STORAGE baskets are woven for us by an elderly women’s group in Kitui. The Ladies collect the raw materials from a central base and return the completed baskets in their own time as they work around tending their families & land. Some of them work in groups which provides a happy social activity as well.

All our baskets are hand finished with leather trims and handles in Nairobi.

ENGRAVED GLASS

We have a unique range of hand engraved recycled wine bottles for use as glasses, water bottles, lanterns and Candle holders.

We also have engraved clear tumblers, wine glasses, champagne flutes, beer tumblers and two choices of shot glasses. See all glassware here.

We have recently added vases and exquisite fruit/salad bowls to this range.

These are beautifully engraved for us by a team of talented artisans trained by Sue Dumbelton at Ngare Ndare at Borana.

HAND PAINTED WOODEN TRAYS

Our trays and table mats are made exclusively for us in a small workshop in Nakuru. The wooden bases are made on the premise and then every brush stroke & spot is hand painted by one of the very talented painters. The open natural drying process can be very time consuming and if the weather is dry the dust can also be an issue.

Great care is taken to ensure the standard we require is reached.

These are works of Art!
